This project provides an opportunity to use your unique skill set as an expressive mover to move the needle toward a more antiracist society. A collaboration with music producer Jason D. Harris, the film sets an excerpt of a speech by Ibram X. Kendi to music, while four dancers discover that facing their own undeniable racism is the key to transcending it. Dancers will prepare the movement together via a 3-hr zoom rehearsal, and each will shoot privately with Mesha for 1-2 hours. Then a 5-hr group shoot will take place outdoors + on the train (Exposition Line). Pay is $100 + matching donation of $100 to a BLM organization of your choice.
